Tomorrow I’ll be sending in my truck to get some work done. The front’s sagging more than a Floridian retiree’s skin so I’m getting the front coils cranked up a bit. While it’s in I’m getting my fog lights and a CB wired up.
Sorry I’m not Jalop enough to do it myself or whatever, haha.

CB is easy peasy, but the coils can be a pain without the right tools.

With my luck and “abilities”, I’ll probably electrocute myself. And die. Painfully.

Meh, its only 12 volts. I suck at electrical but I got it installed. Do you have a fuse block or another way to isolate the radio? You don’t want it sharing a circuit with anything else or you will get feedback

It won’t be sharing a circuit, I’m pretty sure anyway.
I went in to get my coils done because I don’t have a vise here at school and saw that the shop also did CBs so while I’m on vacation in Florida for a couple of days, it made sense to get it done. Two birds, one stone.

cool, it was fun having a CB this last week. Not much better (or maybe a little worse) than those little FRS radios for range but those little radios are a pain to hold onto, not loud enough to hear if you aren’t holding onto them, troublesome (we had at least 2 die) and battery dependent (and they eat through batteries fast).

Aside from Trail Comms, I think it’ll be nice to hear weather reports when doing my cross-country drives home. I’m always worried I’ll miss out on something so I listen to the radio and rarely get to play the music on my phone. Hopefully, this changes that.
I was using a bullhorn until I bought my CB, haha.

Your CB has weather? nice. I use a handheld for that

I’m sure you’re exaggerating, and having anything professionally installed is just fine. However, you might like to know that a non-hybrid car won’t electrocute you. The high-tension leads to the spark plugs might stop a pacemaker, but that’s it.
Ever lick a 9V battery when you were a kid? 12V is 33% stronger of a buzz than that, and only if you were to lick a positive and a negative wire together. If you were to put one or all of the positive wires in your mouth, you wouldn’t get any buzz at all without a ground wire.

That’s good to know for all my future electrical endeavors, haha.

I did that, but with an unplugged DC cable. Then I handed it to my brother and said “taste this”. I was an asshole of a child
